I’ve worked at TVC for a few years now and it never ceases to amaze me what our equipment is used for. Our ALXII unit is capable of measuring everything from volts and temperature, to gas and wire speed. I’ve always been interested in science and technology and since I’m studying a design degree, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to extend my working knowledge and understanding of these key features…plus my director challenged me to do it after getting a rather good grade on my last assignment! Wilhelm Conrad Röentgen: The Father of Radiography

It was November 8, 1895 and in a dark room, a man with a cathode tube sealed in a light-blocking case notices that despite the tube being covered, it was emitting a small amount of light, from a couple of meters away a piece of barium platinocyanide coated paper began to fluoresce. In this moment, the history of radiography was born; that man was Wilhelm Conrad Röentgen and he had just discovered a new type of light ray. (more…)
